WVR is an open-source embedded solution for audio, with surprising capabilities. It includes everything you need to get started with embedded audio, with no coding necessary. WVR arrives ready to operate.
WVR is also a highly versatile device, capable of powering a new generation of embedded audio design, thanks in part to its wifi and bluetooth radio, providing all the power of a versatile and extensible Graphical User Interface, without the need for a screen or other interface.
WVR features 8GB of memory and an advanced Web GUI where users upload audio and manage configuration and firmware. WVR offers users a wide range of control over the device via the Web GUI, so the majority of embedded audio uses can be setup without writing custom code. WVR responds to MIDI input, or to events on the GPIO pins.
With the addition of a small backpack (SEEED XIAO) this version of the WVR functions as a USB MIDI Host, and can be connected to any MIDI controller. The backpack is fully programmable, but the default firmware that it ships with provides USB MIDI HOST capabilities. This means that any USB MIDI controller can be plugged directly into the WVR, and this backpack will power the device, and receive MIDI signals from it. Keyboards, Drum Machines, Sequencers, Trigger Pads, Electric Drum Sets, or any other USB MIDI Controller can now trigger samples on the WVR, using only a standard USB cable.
