USB-CAN Adapter

The Lawicel CANUSB is an interface converter that plugs into any PC USB Port and gives an instant CAN connectivity. It can be treated by software as a standard COM Port (virtual serial RS232 port) which eliminates the need for any extra drivers or by installing a direct driver DLL for faster communications and higher CAN bus loads.

Sending and receiving can be done in standard ASCII format. Samples are available for Visual Basic, Visual C++, Visual Studio C#, LabView and Linux. The CAN-pinout is according CiA DS102-1. The CANUSB is powered from USB port.

WGSoft CAN Monitor software allows you to easily test and measure on the CAN Bus with the CANUSB converter. The Lite version is free download from the website of WGSoft.

This version (marked with +# before the serial number) uses the standard FTDI driver, which Windows installs automatically when you connect the convertor to USB.

CANUSB has a new enclosure, but the functionality has not changed.
