RS485-CS - Solar Powered RS485-Modbus/UART to NB-IoT/LTE-M Converter

The Dragino RS485-CS is a RS485/UART to NB-IoT/LTE-M Converter for Internet of Things solutions. User can connect RS485 or UART sensor to RS485-NB converter, and configure RS485-NB to periodically read sensor data and upload via NB-IoT/LTE-M network to IoT server.

RS485-CS can interface to RS485-Modbus sensors, 3.3v/5v UART sensor or interrupt sensor. RS485-CS provides a 3.3v output and a 5v output to power external sensors. Both output voltages are controllable to minimize the total system power consumption.

You can use various IoT Servers and different uplink methods including MQTT, MQTTs, UDP, TCP and CoAP. 

The sensor node uses Quectel BG95-NGFF Multi-band LTE Cat M1/Cat NB2 module with GPS which can be used in most European countries. It has a card slot for an NB-IoT/LTE-M SIM card. Ask your mobile operator about availability of SIM cards, coverage, frequencies used and login procedures. See for example Deutsche Telekom IoT and 1NCE.

This device supports BLE for easy configuration and wireless OTA to update the firmware.

RS485-CS is powered by a rechargeable battery and a solar cell for continuous use. It has an external antenna and an IP66 enclosure with a waterproof M12 cable hole for an external sensor.
